Our vision at Aastrika is a future in which every woman is treated with respect and dignity during childbirth, and the right treatment is provided at the right time.

As an organisation working towards the implementation of high quality maternity care, Aastrika Foundation primarily addresses the public health problem of ‘too much, too soon’, or ‘too little, too late’.

Aastrika Foundation strives to ensure that ethical, evidence-based maternity care is provided to expecting mothers. Where evidence backs interventions, we wholeheartedly support them – but not unnecessary or harmful interventions. Our philosophy is simple – we promote what is required and medically recommended by professional guidelines.

Rooted in a strong sense of virtue, we place the physical, psychological, and emotional well-being of the mother-infant duo above everything else, upholding the rights and needs of expecting women.

Through advocacy and impactful partnerships, we aim to create awareness about the maternal health sector. As champions and avid supporters of this cause, we aspire to reset standards, raise expectations, and empower women to make informed decisions.

We believe all childbearing women have access to certain fundamental rights, including but not limited to, privacy, the companionship of a loved one, informed consent with regard to medical interventions, and an abuse-free birthing experience.
